Le Méridien Taipei

Quietness: ★★★★★

Le Méridien Taipei is a sophisticated sanctuary located in the heart of the bustling Xinyi District.

Quietness: Despite being in the center of Taipei’s financial hub, the soundproofing here is world-class. The street noise from the surrounding avenues is virtually non-existent for the four nights we stayed there. For a light sleeper, this level of tranquility in such a dense urban environment is a rare find.

The Suite: The accommodations are impressively grand and modern. Staying in a suite provides an abundance of space, featuring a separate living area with a chairman’s desk to get work done. The bathroom is exceptionally spacious with a separate shower, an enclosed toilet room and a deep soaking tub. Perhaps the best feature for longer stays is the full walk-in closet, which allows you to keep your living space organized and clutter-free, making the room feel like a private residence.

Breakfast: The breakfast buffet at Latest Recipe is excellent and complimentary for Marriott platinum members, one of the best I have seen. The selection spans traditional Chinese dishes to international favorites, all prepared with high-quality ingredients such as scallop in the Shumai. The chocolate croissant is a mandatory highlight—perfectly flaky, buttery, and rich. It’s the kind of breakfast that makes it difficult to leave the hotel.

Location: The neighborhood is known for its high-energy shopping, nightlife, and Michelin-recommended restaurants. You are within easy walking distance of Taipei 101, several major luxury department stores, and the MRT station. Nearby landmarks within walking distance include National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, Zhongshan Park and Taipei Dome.
